How does a camera inspection find a leak if I can't see water coming out?
The camera shows us the inside of the pipe in real time, and we watch for cracks, holes, or separations where water escapes into the soil. If the line is running partially full or there's water pooling on the outer wall of the pipe, the camera catches it. We also note discoloration, mineral deposits, or damage that tells us where the leak is happening, even if the water isn't visible yet at the surface.
Do you have to dig to run the camera?
No. We access the line through cleanouts or the main sewer line, and in some cases we can feed the camera down from an indoor drain. The camera itself is only about the size of a bullet and travels on a flexible cable. We only mark the location on your property. If a repair is needed, that's when digging starts, but you'll know exactly where and why.
How long does a camera inspection take?
The inspection itself usually takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending on how long the line is and whether we're checking just the sewer or running it through multiple branch lines. We'll be there around 45 minutes from your call. You get the video and location on the same day.
